Police in Iwata, Shizuoka Prefecture, on Thursday arrested a fire department official for breaking child prostitution and anti-pornography laws, after he allegedly paid a year-old high school girl for sex. The suspect was identified as Toshimitsu Kawai, 40, a senior staff member of the general affairs section of Hamamatsu fire department. Police believe Kawai paid the girl 15, yen before committing indecent acts with her in a car parked in a dried-up river bed at the beginning of August.
